Wednesday, March 19th, 2008The Government Is Wasting Your Money
Monday, February 25th, 2008Here is an interesting article from Reader’s Digest, it lays out nearly a trillion dollars of wasteful programs and activities that the Government spends every year. That is over $3,000 per American. Maybe Americans wouldn’t be as cash-strapped if our elected politicians and representatives would take some accountability and stop hemorrhaging money. I don’t mind paying taxes when the are warranted, but it isn’t right when a government takes advantage of the “generosity” or the “ignorance” of its taxpayers.

Farm Subsides Misuse - $1.3B to Non-Farmers
Friday, December 14th, 2007Apparently the government gives a lot of money for farm subsides to people who don’t even run farms. The subsides last for years even if the land has changed ownership. The new owners aren’t required to grow anything, but still receive payment. The total amount given to non-farm farms, $1.3 billion, accounts for nearly half of the nation’s agricultural subsidy system.
This where I am supposed to say the Government needs to be held accountable for fragrantly misusing taxpayers’ dollars…but I know no one in Washington is listening. (except for you NSA)

2nd Richest American Wants His Taxes Raised
Thursday, November 15th, 2007Multi-billionaire Warren Buffett has been complaining for years that his taxes are too low. Last June, he said at a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton that he was taxed at only 17.7% last year on his $46 million in income, while his secretary paid 30% of her $60,000.
What can $611 billion buy?
Tuesday, November 13th, 2007$100 x 6,110,000,000 = Iraq War
What Can $611 Billion Dollars Buy:
A real war on poverty
According to World Bank estimates, $54 billion a year would eliminate starvation and malnutrition globally by 2015, while $30 billion would provide a year of primary education for every child on earth.
At the upper range of those estimates, the $611 billion cost of the war could have fed and educated the world’s poor for seven years.
Or 2,000 Dollars off every American’s Taxes…
